Virtual Dye Day - rewind


Another mini lesson show and tell by Di Kearney. Again, Di tells us that "this photo shows the skein in the previous photo after it has been re wound. The other is a plain mustard gold and the other little one is quite brown.  It is interesting how the various types of wool take up the dye differently. 

The dyestuff was leaves from 2 kinds of apple trees plus from a crab apple ( Mallus Gorgeous).The mordant for all was from rhubarb leaves." It will be interesting to see how this looks knitted up or woven.
