Forest Spin Day
The day was warm & sunny, we were greeted with big smiles & shown a huge range of “Show-n-Tell”. There were lots of lucky door prizes all wrapped up with their individual ticket numbers on! As well as having a box full of Raffle prizes for the lucky winners to choose what they want, when their number was called of course!
With 3 generations of one family into spinning, knitting & weaving it was so great to hear how they produced so many gorgeous things, out of different yarns; one in particular was Angora. We were treated to a lesson on how the Angora fur was gathered & Cindy had a lot of very cute & very tempting baby Angora bunnies for sale.
Kim had the yarn store, with lots of interesting goodies, while she was busy plying up her spun wool.
I took along the Bunting, which was well received & offers to make some more….it was strung around the corner of the hall, for all to see.
There was far too much yummy food; a few of us were given “doggy bags” for our dinner, to save us cooking.
What a fantastic day was had by all, which was well supported by Guild Members, some of us went the day before & stayed till the day after, there are so many places I hadn’t been before, I was really impressed with the places we saw & the people we met.
What else can I say, except that you should have been there & I suggest you mark your diaries for the next Spin Day!!!!
